Louis Vaughan

Louis Vaughan was the long-time pastor of the Omega Missionary Baptist Church here in Houston. He was a very special, kind man who ministered with love to his congregants. As a child, I attended his church fairly regularly. He will be sorely missed. His nephew-in-law, Frank Celestin, will be pastoring this church now. Please keep Frank, his wife Patsy, the Omega Missionary Baptist Church, and Louis' family in your thoughts and prayers.

Interesting Hubert Vo reference

This from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. There is an editor who has a column called "Thinking Right" and it's snippets from a somewhat right-wing perspective (I think this because of his titles and he backhanded criticisms of liberals. Anyway, here's what he has to say about Hubert:
I love the American Dream. Carlos M. Gutierrez, the new secretary of commerce, is a Cuban political refugee who began working at Kellogg Co. selling Frosted Flakes out of a van in Mexico City. In Texas, Hubert Vo of Houston, who fled Vietnam as a teenager after Saigon fell in 1975, won election to the state House of Representatives.
